Page speed, the measurement of how fast a page loads, is core to a good user experience. As such it is also one metric (of many) used by Google and various search and social algorithms to signal page rank and search engine results position. In case more than almost a decade of us saying page experience is important to traffic growth has not yet hit home, In April 2021, Google rolled out another page experience update in its effort to also further stress the importance of user experience as a page ranking signal. We regularly have a third party( Optimera), audit our ad stack, comparing it to some of the world’s largest media companies and ad-tech service providers. In total, our ad speed is benchmarked against more than 72 billion ad impressions a year and over 3,500 different ad configurations and websites. The results have been very consistent since we began auditing in early 2018, and in December 2021 - a high traffic month - page speed remained strong.
In December, SHE Media was 20% faster than ComScore’s top 100 publishing brands and networks, including Bustle, Hearst, WebMD, Q.Digital, Tribune.
