Galina Espinoza
Editor-In-Chief, Flow Space
Galina Espinoza is the Editor-in-Chief of Flow Space. Galina oversees the editorial direction and vision of the brand, working closely with the sister properties across the SHE Media portfolio, including SheKnows and Stylecaster.
Galina was most recently President and Editor-in-Chief of Rewire News Group, where she led the nation’s only media organization dedicated to the coverage of reproductive and sexual health, rights, and justice. She was responsible for leading a national newsroom that won multiple Digital Health Awards for its coverage of topics like endometriosis and the fall of Roe v Wade, as well as for expanding the organization onto new media platforms and via new distribution platforms.
Before joining Rewire News Group, Galina served as Senior Director, Digital Enterprises, at NBCUniversal, where she worked across the entire, 20+-brand portfolio — including NBC Sports, Telemundo, and E! News — to develop impactful digital initiatives. In her role, Galina launched new digital IP, including the women’s sports-focused, OnHerTurf, and the parenting social media hub, Playfull. She also led cross-company teams for the successful launch of the peacock streaming service, and led company-wide IRL activations at SXSW and VidCon.
Galina’s 20+-year media career has also included stints as President and Editorial Director of Latina Media Ventures, the parent company of Latina magazine and latina.com. She introduced commerce, developing a home goods collection that sold on
QVC, and created the magazine’s first triple-gatefold cover, in celebration of Latina’s 15th anniversary. She interviewed leading political and cultural figures, including President Barack Obama in the lead-up to the 2012 election, and as a guest correspondent for Access Hollywood at various Latino awards shows.
Before Latina Media Ventures, Galina was an editor at People, where she oversaw many of the magazine’s best-selling special issues, including “World’s Most Beautiful People” and “Sexiest Man Alive.” Galina wrote and starred in people.com’s first-ever red carpet video from the Oscars and the Met Gala, and appeared so often as an on-air expert that she earned her SAG-AFTRA card.
Her personal essays have appeared in the “Modern Love” column of The New York Times, as well as Marie Claire and USA Today. She holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where she won an American Tentative Society award for science writing, and a bachelor’s degree in English with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania.
