BabyNames.com the number one source for baby names and their meanings has been around since the mid-90s launching as the very first baby names website. Founder Jennifer Moss, with an extensive background in software and database development, launched the site at the height of the dot com boom.
“Prior to the ‘Net’, I had a career in software and database development and had created a software program for expecting parents with a database of names. When the internet opened for public use in the mid-90s I put that database online”
Moss continued to grow BabyNames.com into the publishing powerhouse and premier site for baby names and naming that it is today. At the height of its growth, Moss recruited her mother and sisters to join the team. After running the site for decades and working remotely, Moss found it difficult to find avenues for brainstorming and continued learning.
