Changing Your Publisher Network Blog Title and/or URL

We know that as your site grows and changes, it’s possible that you’ll change your site’s name or even rebrand to a new name and URL too!

If you are only changing your blog’s name, not the URL:

Please sign into the dashboard, and under Settings, go to Site & Ads and pick the Site Information section there. Update the Site Name field, and click the Save button.

If you are changing your URL:

We’re going to have to do a little more work! To you, it’s the same content with a new name. But to the internet, it’s a brand new site with brand new content. So we actually have to create a new site profile for you, have you go through site setup again, and resubmit your site to all our ad providers.

Hopefully you’re coming to us before your site is ready to launch. Please contact the Support team at support@shemedia.com to let us know so that we can get you set up. We’ll give you all the steps and directions.

Things to know:

  • Rebranding your site will impact your revenue. As we said above, it’s a new site to our ad providers, and because of this - some might think your site is “too new” and too risky for them to monetize. So you might see your RPM drop, even if your ad layout is nearly the same.

  • You will have to go through the MCM site evaluation process again. Even though it’s just the one step, it can take anywhere from an hour to 7 days for an evaluation.

  • You’ll need to make sure that our header code is the code for your new site’s site profile, not your old one.

If your domain name is the same, but you now have an SSL certificate:

First of all, awesome! Adding an SSL certificate is a vital part of keeping your SEO ranking up, and ensuring that you get the best ads.

Our code works with http and https sites. BUT, we need to have the right URL in our dashboard in order to make sure that you’re getting the right ad type. Just reach out to the support teamat support@shemedia.com, and we’ll make sure it’s updated everywhere in our system.
